On Ilkley Moor Bar t’At

We had a horrendous journey on the A1 this morning, and were nearly taken out by an Amazon Prime lorry that just missed our front end as it pulled straight out in front of us.  Not keen on lorries since I got side swiped on the M1 years ago.

Headed round the North Leeds ring-road to Horsforth, where I was brought up (just caught a glimpse of home down through the hay fields), then drove over the top to Ilkley, where we stopped near the Cow and Calf for a cup of tea.  Sorry we didn’t see you WharfedaleBex, Earthdreamer and Mambo.

Now in a Premier Inn in Harrogate, and JJ is fast asleep.  He started with a cold yesterday, would you believe.  Two plus years free and he had to have one now.

I was going to navigate up to Barnard Castle tomorrow (to check his eye-sighted) and then go over the moors to Alnwick, but we’ll have to see how he feels in the morning.
