Lunch?

A young Robin crashed into the window and died. I left him out on the ground, thinking that a hawk might want him for lunch. This Cooper's Hawk showed up and moved it to the deck railing; that is where I saw him. I grabbed my camera and took the first extra photo from the kitchen; I moved to the dining room to get a different angle through the window. The windows are mirrored from the outside so that he couldn't see me, but he must have sensed my presence because he became agitated, as you can see in the second and third extra photos... He soon settled into tearing the bird apart as I snapped more photos. I liked this photo best because his eye is brighter. Which picture would you have chosen? Are these shots disturbing to anyone? They didn't bother me because the Robin was already dead.

There are a variety of birds today: Stellar Jay, Downy, and a female Red-Winged blackbird, and all those I mentioned a couple of days ago. We enjoy watching the many different birds we see this time of year.
