Camel

It had to be a camel today as this roadhouse is in Ghan. Named after the Afghan camel herders who were used to transport supplies before they had roads or the railway. The main tourist train from Darwin to Adelaide is called The Ghan. There is nothing in Ghan except the roadhouse.

Today’s trip was only 250km and we arrived here at 11.30am. I raced down to the laundry and was lucky to get the only washing machine available (hadn’t washed for ages and we were running out of clean stuff). The weather is beautiful. Best day so far. The caravan park is pick your own site but it’s really well laid out with drive through sites. Very easy. It is now full. We had plenty to pick from as we were early.

It’s our 46th wedding anniversary today. We decided to eat at the cafe for celebration but decided to pass up that option after checking it out.

If you are wondering where we are have a look at a map of Australia and go to the middle. That’s where we are. The middle of the middle. Bob has never been to the Northern Territory before and tomorrow we go to Uluru. I’m really excited as it’s been on my bucket list for ever.

I put up a backflip for yesterday. Sorry for not replying to comments, stars and hearts. It’s too hard at the moment.

The road speed limit is 13okph
