Now, as I see it......

Mixed Traction Gala

It's the Mixed Traction Gala on the railway this weekend, which means they will be running an intensive timetable of steam and diesel engines, including two 'guest' diesels.  I'll have a walk along the line and a proper look over the weekend but this afternoon we just had a quick walk up to Windpump Crossing on Kelling Heath to see what was going by.  This is one of the railway's resident engines looking clean and polished after a recent overhaul, and pulling the vintage set of coaches.  For those who are interested it's a 'Class 37', otherwise known as an English Electric Type 3, which was built in 1962 for British Railways and numbered D6732.
