Pied Flycatchers

This morning F and I went for a walk in woodland and saw a male and female flycatcher.  The male is bright black and white and the female brown and white. They're summer migrants from West Africa and mostly found in the west of the UK. They're on the endangered list so sorry, I can't share where these birds nest.

They were dashing around and taking flies and caterpillars to the youngsters in the nesting box.  We heard a great spotted woodpecker calling close by so hope that it doesn't find the nest as it would break in and predate the chicks.Fingers crossed that they breed succesfully.
