The Fly In The Ointment?

It was 'fun' this morning trying to get some macro shots in the howling wind.
I went down to the playing field to see about getting some shots of the orchids there. There were a total of 3. There used to be hundreds but the Council in all their wisdom marked out the embankments which were not to be cut .... to protect the orchids. However, the  grass that they had planted originally is the same as on the football pitches which grows far too tightly and strongly to allow any wildflowers to compete when it is just left to its own devices, so their good intentions were actually a complete disaster.
I should try and find out which department is responsible and point them in the direction of Rotherham Council who have turned over (literally) 8 miles of verges and planted wildflowers. It looks fantastic and has has saved them tens of thousands of pounds in grass cutting and maintenance costs.

I photographed a couple of 'creations' .... one made from wee offcuts set in resin and the other with a bit of the wood I was given last week.

Some hedge trimming was done.
Between that and the exercises I was given to do yesterday I am going to have to take some pain killers before we set off to see The Eagles.
