Fantastic flowers

I have no idea what these are, but aren't they amazing? You can see the buds unfurling from the outside inwards; if I go back in a few days I expect I'll find complete spikes of blue flowers. I had a look on Lo Jardinier's blog, my usual source of botanical information, without any serious hope of finding them there. I'm pretty sure they aren't wild flowers; they are growing in this beautiful, benignly neglected garden. This is a wonderful time of year to browse around it looking for blossom amid the undergrowth.

I chose this over a photo of some daisies :) I think they deserve it! Go large to see the bugs.
