A view from Jeanneb

River and canal.

A very pleasant day with sun and a breeze so not too hot.

We headed out for a walk taking in the River Aire and the Leeds Liverpool canal to and from Saltaire.

It was a bit of a test for Chris who hasn’t walked much since being out of sorts after our trip to Brussels. All on the flat so he was fine and the swelling on his ankles actually went down. I haven’t walked in an enclosed shoe since last week and I admit it was  a bit uncomfortable and sore when we got back after walking something over 3 miles.

We went along the river and saw some individual rowers out near the Bradford Rowing Club. Passing through the wild area approaching Roberts Park there were quite a number of butterflies but no damsel flies which I saw here last year.

We had a coffee at the Half Moon Cafe and them walked back along the canal seeing one barge coming through the locks at Hirst Woods.

Just back from drinks with friends at the village pub. We were joined, sitting outside, by M (our token man with the ladies who walk) and rose54 who walk with us on a Thursday morning. A very pleasant couple of hours spent in their company.

A nice day just hope I can sort my footwear to walk tomorrow as it could be a lovely start to the day.
