Day 8 Tour of the Lakes

Up and over to Eskdale YHA today, via Ireton Fell, Whin Rigg and Illgill Head, coming down past a couple of tarns where Nuala and Sylvia swam.

A fair bit of bog and masses of bracken saw us at the pub near the hostel by 3 ish, where I drank a pint of water and a pint of squash. We'd been booked in for a meal later by Elizabeth, but I took myself off, knowing that I wouldn't want to shower and then have to walk to the pub and back... especially not in flip-flops, my only other footwear.

Writing this on Wednesday morning after a poor night's sleep and with 12 miles ahead of us. Oh well, it will be done!

I've now told everyone that I'm not going to Austria with them. Hurrah!
