Big and bright

These are the butterflies I've so missed this year - are they called Nymphalidae?  Anyway, peacocks, admirals, commas, tortoiseshells, fritilliaries, etc.  The big bright ones.  So common or not, I am delighted to have this peacock in my journal.  I met him (or her) by the river fluttering around some Creeping Thistle, trying to share a flowerhead with two mating soldier beetles.  Disgraceful!
