Josie and David in our garden
Yesterday Mum's best friend, Joan, would have been 101. They became friends when they met in Sunday School, aged 3 and remained firm friends until Joan's death.
David is Joan's son. He and his wife, Josie, pop in to see us when they can. Today they were held up in traffic on the Western By-pass, but we still had a lovely afternoon.
Three years ago they were with us when they heard the news of their grandson, William's birth.
Josie brought freesias (because they were Joan's favourite), fresh eggs from their hens this morning and lemon drizzle cake. Weren't we spoiled?
Mum was able to tell David some bits of family history unknown to him, so that was terrific.
