Three is the Theme for Today!

Three years of blipping with this remarkable community! 

I remember the day I started at the suggestion of Emma Davies who wrote "A Year with My Camera". It was just before I went to Portugal for a couple of weeks. A couple of months later, in January 2020 I had what was most certainly the original Covid, then of course the pandemic followed, then the deaths of my parents in 2021 and 2022. I am very much looking forward to celebrating a marvelous 4th year of blipping, beginning with an adventure to Iceland with Energia (in 17 days!) who I met right here on Blip! I've made so many wonderful connections and friends here and am so grateful for the conversations, support and community. 

To celebrate, I present you with three sets of three. Since KatesGardenPDX is all about my garden, I really wanted to take a great shot of my garden. But it's a mess after a month of neglect (vacation, followed by mom's death, followed by a miserable head cold) so I found three of my favorite plants instead. And got out my new travel tripod to test it out...brilliant piece of equipment BTW.

The main is Abutilon 'Smoked Salmon', or Flowering Maple (it's not really a maple at all). Couldn't you just get lost in that sumptuous color? The extras are of a hardy Fuchsia, unknown cultivar, looking all the world like little dancing ballerinas. And finally, a return of Dahlia 'Go Go Pink & Yellow" which is in stunning full bloom now.
