An amble ..

..in Amble.

We love coming to Northumberland but today was for a sad reason. To say farewell to our lovely friend Ian and give some support to our sister in law.

We reacquainted ourselves with members of her family who we haven’t seen for maybe more than 40 years, we couldn’t really work out when. Not surprisingly we were all looking older so not always easy to spot who was who. Good to meet Ian’s family too and we were most grateful for his brother and wife’s hospitality, it’s good to know she has them nearby.

There was a little rain at the crematorium but the rest of the afternoon was lovely and sunny and warm, so when we said our goodbyes we headed to the nearby coast for a bit of fresh air. Lots of people out enjoying the sun and the ambiance around the harbour area of this pretty little town. Seagulls on the lookout for any chance as usual.
In the distance, on the horizon, you can just see the raised building which is Alnwick Castle, well known to Harry Potter fans.

I hope we will be back in this lovely county soon for happier reasons.
