Times like these!

Just in from a magnificent evenings concert at St George’s Hall, Bradford.

We’ve been preparing for this concert for 8 months and tonight was really worth all the effort. Great singing, great fun and even some pyrotechnics! The title ‘Times Like These’ refers to the times we went through in lockdown to keep the group going and a general reflection of the times we experienced over the last two years.

We weren’t allowed phones on stage so I couldn’t take any pictures from there when the concert was in progress which was a shame as during the encore the audience were asked to use their phone torches and it looked magnificent.
We were joined by Alistair Griffin in the second half, a singer and song writer and accompanied him on two songs.

We were there all afternoon for a technical rehearsal and some of the logistics required for getting 200 people onto the stage in an organised fashion was a little tedious but understandable. I was seated in the middle bank of seats (black) which were tiered so excellent.

Yesterday there was some concern as to whether we would be allowed to go ahead but with due deference paid to the death of our dear queen, a two minutes silence and then a rendering of ‘ God save the King’ - a first for us all - we were thankfully allowed to continue. I think the rules have been the same for all theatres.

A splendid evening which the audience (a near sell out) seemed to enjoy as much as us.

Well done to Chris K our musical leader for putting so much into it and having faith in us to do it!

You might guess our ATN group colours from the queue of people waiting to enter at the stage door.
For actual event shits see extra on 12th Sept blip
