Sea defences

Firstly, thank you all for your concern about Mum. She had a second X-ray at 2am and no fracture was seen. She then waited on a trolley overnight for a bed to become available.

Poor Joan and Margaret stayed all night. Kate offered to go this morning and take over from them.

Fairly early on, Mum was assessed by a physio who said she was mobile and should go home. This happened early in the afternoon, by which time she was exhausted.

The carers are doing a great job and Mum needs to sleep. I’m staying on my holiday for now.

We walked around the edge of St Mary’s Island today in rain showers and generally humid and overcast weather. We saw the sea defences being strengthened. There were 2 cruise ships quite near. I was glad we were not in town for when the hordes descended. (I quite like the idea that the scoop could pick one up and throw it away!)

Our meal tonight was tapas at Dibble and Grub. Delicious.
