Robin

We started our day with another fabulous breakfast.  I’m not normally a big breakfast eater – but have enjoyed it this weekend.  We then packed up and checked out, then said farewell to friends who were on early ferries home.   We headed to Sannox and had a lovely walk along the beach and the rocks in the morning sunshine, in the company of a couple of geologist friends.  I think TT took in more than I did of the local geology.  Our friends went off to the local golf club to meet up with another couple of friends who were golfing while we three headed to Lochranza.   BB had his lunch stop planned – at the Sandwich Station.

We all ordered sandwiches, but only BB ate his – TT and I were still too full from breakfast.  BB’s sandwich looked amazing and he said it was very nice.  We then had a gentle walk to Hutton’s Unconformity again.  A nice easy flat walk, as we didn’t have enough time to do anything more strenuous.  We were rewarded with a view of an eagle soaring overhead and then a stag on the golf course when we got back to the car.

Then all too soon we were heading back to Brodick to catch our ferry home.  There were quite a few of our group on the ferry.  One couple who were staying an extra night on the island came to wave us off.  We said our farewells before we disembarked.  Our first stop was the supermarket near the ferry terminal as we knew the cupboard was a bit bare and the shops are to be closed tomorrow.  We had a smooth run home and later there was TV and our delicious sandwiches which we had saved from lunchtime – clearly I had to make something else for BB!

This wee robin appeared as we were walking along the coastal path at Sannox.  The extras are the eagle and stag at Lochranza.
