Pex Hill

A late morning walk around Pex Hill.

We parked next to the Leighton observatory, the home of Liverpool astronomical society. At various points on our circuit we had distant views of Moel Famau and the Clwydian range, and Liverpool “high spots” including the two cathedrals, Liverpool FC’s ground at Anfield and big dockside cranes. And of course Fiddlers Ferry power station, now closed and soon to be demolished, a backdrop here to the town of Widnes.

Just before leaving we watched a peregrine rising on an updraft, no doubt to take up a stooping position.
