Tower Info Now!

On the road into the lovely village of Ditton Priors there is quite a shock in store for anyone unfamiliar with the area.

This 1970s concrete water tower has been converted into a private three bedroomed house.

It was first listed as a water tower by the Ordnance Survey in 1974 but I think it is older than that. It was in operation for over 40 years whilst in the ownership of Severn Trent Water Authority.

It is called Netchwood Water Tower although it is located close to the boundaries of Ditton Priors and Monkhopton.

I find this sort of thing fascinating although it is in stark contrast to the heritage and history that I have been chuntering on about in recent blips.
