An ordinary life....

Bugs, drugs, dugs and ducks...

Poor S was feeling even worse this morning.

On top of all her cold symptoms her bones are aching and head is sore.  Still testing negative for covid so she thinks it's flu.  Unfortunately Faith was up a lot during the night coughing and by this morning was displaying all the same symptoms.  She appeared downstairs for a short while then returned upstairs to coorie under the quilt with her mum.

We had promised take Anna and Faith to Loch Earn to feed the ducks this afternoon but there was no way Faith was well enough to go.  She was upset but didn't put up much of a protest, which indicates how ill she felt.

We stopped at the chemist to get some Day and Night Nurse for S and dropped it off before heading to Loch Earn.  Thankfully it was dry so not too muddy on at the edge of the loch.  The ducks were all in the water but as soon as Anna started waving her arm about they were wise enough to know food was on offer and they flew to her feet.  We left Lola in the car for the duration of the duck feeding!  :-))

Ducks fed and safely back on the loch, Lola was released.  David took her and Anna down to the loch edge and both went into the water.  Thankfully Anna's welly boots kept the water out although she was dangerously close to wading in too deep!

Back home and S had managed to have a shower and put some clean PJs on.  She felt a little better after taking some Day Nurse.  There's no way she can drive back home to Skye as planned tomorrow though, so they are staying till Sunday.  She's hoping she's well enough to drive back then as she and L are back at work on Monday (not sure she will be) and the girls are due back at school and nursery (not sure Faith will be)

Whilst tonight's dinner was cooking I quickly got a large pot of ragu made and into the simmering oven of the Aga to slow cook.  That's tomorrow's dinner sorted.

Hoping the rest of us can avoid the bugs but in the last hour I've developed a tickly cough.....
