A view from Jeanneb

We went to see the moon!

Quite a full day.

A damp start for the early walk but the half hour later start due to half term meant it was getting light by the time we set off. It did remain wet but it was enjoyable to chat with everybody and we had an extra man as it was the holiday.

Several blippers have been to see the art installation  *Museum of the Moon at Bolton Priory at Bolton Abbey in Wharfedale. I mentioned it to Grace last week and she said it had been at Bath Abbey earlier in the year and was being displayed around the world. I looked on line and found it was only going to be at the Priory till the end of the month so booked our entry for this afternoon. Parking at Bolton Abbey is expensive though slightly cheaper when pre booked, but if you paid for parking today you got entry into the Priory for free, didn’t think that was a bad deal.
By now the rain had stopped and the sun was hovering.

Quite a stunning sight when you got inside the lovely old Priory. We resisted the holding the moon in your hands or on the end of your finger images that many were taking! (Quite like the accidental b/w image I took first using my phone - extra)

As it was now quite sunny we walked down by the river. The colours were fabulous and I would normally have not hesitated to use one of these photos for my blip.  I’ll add them to my Flickr album for October together with more images from the moon and the Priory. He water was quite high and the stepping stones were completely covered.

We then went on to Ilkley where I had already booked us into the cinema this evening. Out in time to get a fish supper at the Wetherby Whaler and we are now just home and catching up on Autumn Watch.

A good autumn day despite the rainy start.
