An ordinary life....

Really felt the benefit of the extra hour's sleep.

Nikki messaged me to say they are about to have an addition to the family and sent a photo of the cutest dog!  :-)))

Bonnie is a rescue greyhound and after a trial at home, they are picking her up on Wednesday.   Nikki and her mum have adopted many greyhounds and her mum still has a couple, but this is the first one that will be Andrew, Nikki and Esme's family pet.

She asked if we still had Lola's crate as she wanted to give Bonnie a space all of her own, that she can retreat to should she feel the need.  We did have Lola's crate so Nikki, her mum A and of course Esme popped up to collect the crate.

Esme is such a little fire cracker.  Absolutely hilarious and has a thing for blue rubber gloves.  She loves coming here as we always have plenty in stock!  lol  She loves to sit at one of our lamp tables in the garden room and pretend it's her shop.  She uses the house phone as her till.  She sold me some apples for fifty dollars.  Note the currency she quoted.  Watching too much American children's tv perhaps?

Nikki had news to tell...some good  - she and Andrew have finally named the day for their wedding - 17th July 2024 and a venue has been chosen (but keeping that under wraps for now.  Well I mean I am, I know where it is :-)) And some not so good...D's sister Ele, Kenny and niece Jennifer all tested positive for covid this morning!  They think they got it at the Robbie William's concert last Monday.  So glad David didn't go now!

I was able to give Nikki her crocheted bed throw at last!  Phew, that's a weight of my mind.  Thankfully she seemed very happy with it :-))

After they left I spent an hour in the study finishing off this week's drawing exercise of the hen.  I am really enjoying the pastel pencils.

Feeling a bit better today.  Think my antibiotics are finally kicking in.  Made butter chicken for dinner using the curry spice blends from the kit Sharon bought me at Easter.  It really is a fabulous kit and the curries are so authentic.  It was absolutely delicious.

Lazy night in front of the tv again watching Strictly results.
