An ordinary life....

By Damnonii

We will remember them...

I got quite emotional observing the two minute silence at 11am and was glad I was on my own.  My thoughts drifted to my friend M, who spent a long time giving mental health support to ex-servicemen who were suicidal.  Out of the forces and left to face their demons on their own.  Awful that there's so little help out there for those who were willing to lay down their lives for us.

David was up and away early to help Ele and Kenny finish clearing Kenny's mum's house.  The loft is finally empty!   Guy arrived to service Alan's hoists then pool engineer arrived to service the pool.  They left and Alan and Penny headed out.  I returned to the studio to try and complete my drawing exercise but again my motivation deserted me.

Did end up having a couple of ideas form regarding arty Christmas gifts.  Need to develop those to see if they are worth pursuing.

David arrived home and headed straight for the shower as he was thick with stoor* from Ishbel's loft.  The house is more or less cleared now so his services are not required tomorrow.  I always think it's so sad that at the end of someone's life, most of the things that meant so much to them end up in a charity shop or the tip.

It makes me sad to think of the things we've lovingly furnished our house with that have such sentimental value to us, but will mean nothing to anyone else, being disposed of.  The one comfort is I won't be around to see it happening.

Dinner was a bit of a mix up.  I was supposed to make cashew chicken but remembered too late it takes three hours in the slow cooker.  Then discovered the lamb leg steaks that Tesco delivered yesterday had to be eaten by today but it seems I only thought about buying baby potatoes and green beans!  In the end, the lamb ended up in the freezer and I made Mac n cheese instead.  One of David's favourites so he was happy :-))

Friday again.  Have a great weekend blip pals :-) x
