Ukrainian dancers

Saturday 19 November
This evening we had tickets to the Cincinnati Symphony concert at Music Hall, featuring the Sibelius Violin Concerto, and Bartok Symphony for Orchestra. The conductor was a visiting conductor, Dalia Staveska, who is principal Guest conductor for the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and is Finnish nationality, but was born in present day Ukraine. It was a wonderful concert, and I thought she was an excellent conductor. During the intermission we were enjoying a glass of wine, standing on the balcony surrounding the lobby, and we heard music, so we went up to the railings to see what was going on, and discovered, there was this group of dancers, Ukrainians who are living in the Cincinnati area as I understand it. There was a lady doing a short introduction before each dance, but unfortunately we couldn’t hear what she was saying, but they were still very nice to watch.
