Another special sing

A very cold day again with a hard frost but at least this time we had some sun!

We were quite late up, not sleeping the best at the moment, so it was a quick breakfast and then off down to Bingley for a very special event at Hazlebeck Special School.
Hazelbeck is part of Beckfoot School and in it’s previous building incarnation it was the school where I spent 7 years of my youth. Always feels a bit strange coming here.

The sun was shining brilliantly and the frosted playing field pitches were being utilised by Canada Geese.

Though very cold, the sun made it feel not too unpleasant waiting to go in. Signing in etc has to be organised efficiently for such a large number of visitors and we were soon in the warm.

The youngsters really enjoyed the singing and joined in with signing, clapping and dancing. Our first visit here was pre lockdown and we realised what a special event it was.
Last summer we were back in the high summer heat and it was just as much fun so another Christmas visit was a must.

We’d brought our own Santa with us and many of the children wanted a photo with him. Think this might be our last public sing of the season, though I know there is one on Saturday in Baildon, nice they were all so different.

This afternoon I went into Keighley to attend my appointment for assessment after signing up to the NHS ‘Our Future Health’ programme. Just a few tests and measurement to be made and they couldn’t have been more pleasant. The young lady who dealt with me was from the Midlands, I could detect a ‘brummie’ accent. She was looking forward to going home on Friday as she had just come up to help out. She commented on how nice she had found people in the North. Of course we are!
