Ceiling

After shopping this morning and pottering around the house in the afternoon we took a train to Waterloo and rode the Underground  extension to the Turbine Theatre at Battersea Power Station.  We had tickets to see Wreckage, a play written by and starring Tom Ratcliffe. We were a bit early and the entrance cafe-bar was quite busy so we stood in a corridor until I, in a fit of inquisitiveness,  went up some steps ‘just to see’ and found a small, but deserted, mezzanine. So we grabbed our drinks and sat until the house opened. This is the view to the outside with the curve of the railway arch fully visible.

The play was a fantastic exploration of grief that had a post everybody in tears by the end of the show.  There are two actors on stage, Tom Ratcliffe and Michael Walters. Their ability to switch in time from ‘now’ to ‘then’ in a heartbeat on stage is incredible to watch.
