BOYS IN BLUE WHO LUNCH

NO I HAVENT BEEN ARRESTED - THEY'RE JUST HAVING A LUNCH BREAK.

A busy day today and a bit of frustration too - just one of those sort of days.

We went into Kendal this morning, had coffee at M&S as we needed to do some shopping in there.  After that we went into Boots for some more shopping, which always seems to take me an age for some reason.

We thought we'd go to the 2 sisters at Plumgarths for an early lunch, but after managing to park - there wasn't a spare seat to be had "Sigh" I think I will give up going there again as that is the third time in a row that we couldn't get it, no matter what time of the day - still it's good for them.

As we left there all of a sudden the lens popped out of glasses - luckily hubby was driving and luckily it just fell into my lap.  The side fo the frames had snapped - aaarrggh - I've had them two years, but for what they cost they should have lasted longer than that.  I've never been totally happy with the way the lenses fitted in them anyway. A visit to the opticians urgently would follow

First of all though we stopped off at Sizergh Barn for a light lunch.  Well like a right divvy I stood in the usual place waiting for someone to escort us to a table - but they kept looking at me!!! Eventually someone said you need to find your own table look at the menu and then place your order at the counter!!!!! WHAT - when did that happen!!!  They said it says so on the notice in front of you!!!  Well true it does, but to be honest I didn't even look at the notice as I'm so  used to it just saying PLEASE WAIT HERE TO BE SEATED!!!

Anyway we did all that, had a lovely lunch and then went back to Grange to visit the Opticians.  They were appalled at what had  happened, they checked on their recoords and guess what, they were just out of warantee as they were now 2 years old!!  They're not fixable either so I was just going to get replacement frames and choose something more sturdy this time.  I was advised that my next eye test is due in May anyway and they could get me an urgent appointent on Monday lunch time first.   If there is no change then I will just get the replacement frames.  They did help me with selecting a new pair, which they've put to one side for me.  If I need a new prescription they should be able to get it through for me in time for my holiday on the 16th!!!

Just been sitting this afteroon working out route maps for routes to and from various places for holiday.  Mostly to the hotels and to my sister-in-laws.  We will probably use Google Maps on the phone but I like to be prepared as you can't always rely on sat nav and if there's no signal you're stuck.

I spotted these three taking a well earned quick lunch break at their vehicle before they get back to work so took a quick photo of them as I  thought it would make a pleasant blip.  They weren't long though, they left just after us but  at least they were well refreshed.

Oh I had to laugh - whilst serving the net yesterday I came across a new story about how Sheffield Council have had to put out an apology as they raised a flag for St David's Day - but the flag they raised was THE SALTYRE!!!!!!  You couldn't make that up could you!!!!

That's all from me for today.  Do take are and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
