Cava, in the lee!

So the weather forecast was cloudy, very windy, and raining by lunchtime. We were not hopeful when we went to sleep last night.
This morning we opened the curtains to a clear blue sky, not a cloud in sight. The "very windy" part of the forecast seemed to be correct however. Obviously another day to get out early before the rain arrived,
In the end it was an amazing day. The rain stayed away until evening, the wind relented a little and the skiing was wonderful.
Some days things click and you find yourself flying down the slopes effortlessly. You take the whole slope from top to bottom without a pause. You are whooping with exhilaration as you descend. Today was such a day, the first day this week it has been like that, though there have been moments on previous days. A bonus was that we both felt that way. Even at the end of the day, as we descended to our hotel, the heaps of slushy snow lower down seemed to give way as we turned around the heaps or cut through them as we chose.
I hasten to add I am not a brilliant skier. I can take myself down most slopes but I often make heavy weather of less than perfect conditions. But today "flow" really kicked in!!
Our travel company had organised a cava meet on the hill today. So here we all are, just at the side of the piste, in a carefully chosen spot in the lee. We are drinking free cava out of paper cups and chatting to our travel companions. It was a fun do and the amount of alcohol was very limited, so it wasn't that that created the "flow".
A couple of extra pictures from this lovely day, here and here.
One more day to go...
