Callooh! Callay!

Indeed it was a frabjous day. Firstly I scooped up minky and took her on a bus. First time for me - and she’s free - just like Grandad! Off to the Botanics we did go. Photos beside the daffies. And then we paused at the stream and pond for there - was a heron. A clever bird, the heron, explained Grandad. Blow me, the clever Heron ducked its evil beak into the water and came out with a frog. A full grown frog. The minky was transfixed as the brute dipped the frog into the water a few times before gulping it down. Well, there’s a nature lesson.
Onward we went - you can imagine the chat. We eventually got to Inverleith House for coffee and cake. On the way back we had to see the heron again. Oh yes, Grandad made it fun. We were on a heron hunt. Fishes and froggies beware. The big bad heron is here! What fun. Grandparents are sooo like children.
Then to the boat. Happiness is drilling old pop rivets out your mast whilst listening to Hamish Hawk. What joyful sounds.
