The good, the bad and the really ugly!

Well there's been a great deal of activity round and about Oban today with the Oban Spring Clean, organised by Keep Oban Beautiful. I went down to Tesco's car park at 10am to meet our local MP, Brendan O'Hara, who was joining in - nothing like a bit of good publicity!

Some 30 folk turned up, but there were many more out in other places, having been organised to litter-pick in other parts of the town. A team from Adventure Oban, many wearing wet suits, waded along the Black Linn and fished out an incredible amount of junk - see extra. Among the rubbish brought ashore were 7 kids' scooters!!

There'll be a lot more activity tomorrow, but I'll probably limit my activities to my usual circuit. Hopefully by tomorrow evening we'll have a better idea of how many people came out and how many bags were collected.
