What, how, why?

The day is cold although the temperature is 12 degrees.  Showers and a wind.  Not going out today then.  The weather here doesn't look much better for the rest of the week either.
This week I have been working on still life and experimenting. That explains the 'how and the why' and later I'll show you the 'how.'
I don't suppose this is strictly a still life as the apple is dropping and what's the point of the light bulb.  The bulb is another experiment.  You get a lot of reflection and I was trying to reduce that so that explains the petals behind it, or, very loosely the apple is dropping at 'lightning speed.'
I knew what I wanted to do, but it took time to set up and get photos that I liked. Editing was done in Lightroom.  There were two apples used, forks, board and patience.  A tripod was used.
I've added a second extra including a coloured bottle.
The photo, taken earlier in the week, showing a stigma used a diffuser as ordinary flash shown virtually nothing at all of the stigma.  Flash wasn't used on today's photos.
