Friends

We had a lie in this morning, a light breakfast, and I made an attempt to organise our belongings a little better.  However, I wasn’t really in the mood so that will have to wait until tomorrow.

We drove over to St Heliers, parked the car halfway up the hill, then walked to Mission Bay to meet our Hong Kong Chinese friends for lunch at the Belgian Beer Café.  It was a beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze and there were lots of people out walking and enjoying the sunshine.  We had a lovely catch up with I and M.  I ordered the mussels and frites, M had chicken schnitzel and MrMacD and I ordered the bangers and mash or, to be precise, sausages and stoemp.  I and M had recently had their two sets of parents visit from Hong Kong, so we heard all about that.  They had each accompanied parents back to Hong Kong and found it much changed.  We told them our news, which was a big surprise, but then they realised they could probably visit us when they travel to Queenstown to go skiing, which mollified them somewhat. After a very pleasant couple of hours we parted company and MrMacD and I walked back to St Heliers.  We couldn’t resist buying a couple of  apple and cinnamon hot cross buns for our supper.

We chilled out for the rest of the afternoon and are now ready to go to bed.  We are both still very tired and my eyes are having trouble staying open, so bedtime it is.  Tomorrow we must get on with the things we need to do to prepare for our trip.

The big rabbits were in the window of a shop in St Heliers and the other photo is the Belgian Beer Café in Mission Bay.
