From Finland to the Soviet Union

This blip is a joint effort. annejohn supplied the maps, and hazelh added the dolls. Thank you both!

The intention here is to represent places that were in Finland at the start of World War II in 1939 when Lorna began her Diary of the war (blipped in the LornaL journal from 1st September 2019), and became part of the Soviet Union after her early death in 1942 (explained in Lorna's obituary). These places all feature in Episode 4 of the podcast series of The diary of the war: Petsamo, Karelian Isthmus, and Viipuri.

We're still short of photographs of four locations to complete this online blipper-sourced album of places mentioned in Lorna Lloyd's Diary of the war:  (1) Durrës/Durazzo (Albania), (2) Hanko/Hango (Finland), (3) Heligoland (Germany) and (4) Thermopylae (Greece).

We'd really like to source the final contributions in the next couple of weeks so that we complete this project within a year of its start on 13th July 2022.  Do you think that you could help? If so, please do get in touch with h.hall@napier.ac.uk.

Remember that we do not necessarily need shots of  these places - representations will do. Here are some representation ideas:

(1) Calling blippers in North London. There is a pizza restaurant called Durazzo at 4 Queens Parade Green Lanes, N8 0RD. If you are nearby, perhaps you could take a picture of the restaurant's frontage to contribute to our project?
(2) Perhaps a Finnish blipper based in southern of Finland could snap a shot of a sign to Hanko for us (or a scene in Hanko itself)?
(3) Heligoland is the name of a 2010 Massive Attack album. Does any blipper own this album, or know someone who does? (Or perhaps a blipper based in northern Germany could send us a picture of the actual place?)
(4) The Louvre holds a painting by David entitled Leonidas at Thermopylae. Are there any blippers in/going to Paris in the next few days? Would they have time to track down the painting and photograph it for us (in a way that does not infringe copyright)?

Other examples of non-literal shots blipped in this journal so far represent:

Babylon: cinema brochure
Bailleul: book extract
Chad: a map brought back from the country as a tourist souvenir
Coventry: tour hoodie
Dakar: World Cup finals screen shots
Dunkirk: road sign to the town
Ilford: film
Mafeking: a street sign
River Marne: a painting
Romagna: guide book and train tickets
Silesia: film credit
