Passion

Just a year ago I blipped a new plant coming through the fence from next door. I don’t know if it died but it now seems to have been replaced by a Passion flower. This bloom has come through the fence and is sitting on our bin store divider. I don’t mind as I’ve always liked them and Grace had a similar ‘problem’ with one coming through from her neighbour when she lived in Bristol. Hopefully we’ll see some of the colourful fruits too.

This afternoon we’ve been to visit friends in Bingley who have recently moved into part of a listed hall there. It’s a fascinating house and has a lovely garden. M wanted to talk to Chris about some of his plans for it. It was lovely sitting there in the secluded garden chatting over a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Thank you very much M & R.

Tonight we are invited to a celebration of 50 years of Harden Gala.  You may recall back in June Grace and the girls came to take part in the parade as for the 50 year celebration all past Gala queens and attendants were invited to participate. Eda wore Grace’s attendant’s dress. Tonight it is all the people who have served on the committee who are invited. Chris did it for many years. Up early Saturday morning erecting stalls etc and then taking them down again at the end of the day, often it seemed in pouring rain!

A good way to start the weekend.

Thank you for indulging me over the last week, you have been most kind, it’s hard having both of your granddaughters’ birthdays in the same week they are special events to me.
