A day of lovely
sunshine to move us further
to Arizona

~carliewired

It was a chilly start to our day in Wenatchee, Washington. There was dazzling sunshine and frost on the windshield. We had a quick breakfast, then headed off to Baker City, Oregon.

It has been a day of driving with only a few stops. I got a shot overlooking the Columbia River just after leaving Wenatchee. The Columbia River has been the source of power for this region. There are several dams along this stretch.

Our drive into Oregon passed through agricultural lands - hay fields, vineyards and orchards.

Passing into Oregon we entered the badlands with extensive grasslands. I got a photo of the Pendleton climb, a switchback route up and over a mountainous ridge. The lookout near the top faces west and overlooks an agricultural valley

We were very happy to arrive in Baker City, Oregon about 5 PM. We've both had enough sitting for one day. Dinner at a local bar and grill topped off the day. Our evening will be with our feet up relaxing and off to bed early.
