Yesterday’s entry was a B&W photo of the back of Waterloo Station on my way back from my Tai Chi class. I was looking through the ‘on this day’ section of my diary and I see this day last year was a very similar picture because that too was a dark, cold November Wednesday evening where I needed to get up and get out. And the week before was a similar one. I am going for the hashtag, #WaterlooWednesdays on all my pictures around Waterloo when and I heading to - or coming from - my Tai Chi class.

Today, the usual stand-ups, catch-ups and backlog creation meetings took the morning. The afternoon was quieter which allowed me to get on with some updating of a document which should help us build out our product.  I love the conversations in our catch-ups and can easily fill the hour with chat but, sometimes, I need to get the work done too.

I left at 5pm heading for town. It was a cold evening. PY - who has been in town at a data conference all day - asked that I bring a jumper for him as it was much colder than he’d been expecting.  I was heading for the Hippodrome casino where, in their underground casino and performance space, named Lola, Rachel Tucker was chatting and performing at a, kind of, album launch event.

It was a lovely little event, about an hour inn duration. Rachel chatted about her career and performed a few songs from her new album, ending with a rendition of He’s My Boy, from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.  We learned some of the back story about how she got Guest Star billing in Sunset Boulevard and she confirmed that the video scene that I mentioned on Monday (no spoilers here) is really live.

A great evening. I left when it finished but that was a bit sooner than planned making me early to meet C&P. PY decided not to join us and went home so I went to Pret on Carnaby Street - because I struggled to find anywhere else - and grabbed a wrap before meeting them on the street. The lights that C & I had seen being delivered when we were last here are finally up. They are very impressive with the Carnaby Universe and they look festival-like but they don’t say “Christmas” to me. Maybe that’s a good thing (see extra).

C shared her location so I was able to track them and intercept as they were walking to the White Horse.  A couple of drinks and it was nice to catch-up. After my experience last time, I made sure I got a train home from Waterloo.
