Gift

Following on from having been drafted in to playing at a friend's birthday ceilidh I'd been invited to join the band for a couple of other gigs. Tonight was a run-though of the music for the Buddhist Centre event this coming Saturday.

It was a real pleasure to be playing again - time's not really been there to get involved in a band for a long long time. Positively therapeutic.

The bodhran is my wedding present from E. We exchanged remarkably geometric gifts - this circular drum for a triangular psaltery.

The slight irony is that the calligraphy is my work - something else I've not done for a long time. Uncial remains one of my favourite fonts.
