A day in the life

I've written about this sacred "Fat Tuesday" before, you can get details here. This is the bun "we" traditionally eat today (and many other days after new years eve). The bun has, according to the bakeries saved the business, filling the gap after Christmas and the weeks of poverty in January. This particular bun doesn't exist in this shape anymore, it was consumed during the afternoon. Tasty and totally unhealthy, I don't think it contains a single healthy ingredient.

I'm in the process of changing bank office, from a large bank in town to a very much smaller local bank on the island because I feel the large banks have developed into closed institutions with huge profits and very little, if any benefits for the normal bank customer. This local bank has a small ofice with real people you can call and talk to and they support local companies and economy. Since I'm living here now it seems the right thing to do.

Nearly all snow is now gone -again. There might well be more snow coming but daytime temperatures are now constantly over zero so any snow arriving won't stay for long. The birds has also clearly started singing with a purpose and there is a definite feeling of change in the air.
