We Mourn 19 Fire Fighting Heroes

Last Sunday, 19 Hotshot Firefighters, the best of the best, lost their lives in the mountains near Prescott, Arizona. The forest fire was too intense as the winds suddenly shifted and the fire rapidly overwhelmed them.

It was the deadliest day for firefighters in the U.S. since September 11, 2001.

Watch local News Updates.

This time of year, the monsoon brings much needed relief in the form of rain, and most importantly, replenishes our yearly water supply. But it also brings lightening, which can spark fires in our mountains which are full of dry brush and tinder.

Men and women fearlessly fight these fires for long hours for days on end, then travel to the next fire and repeat their tasks, namelessly and bravely .

We honor the men who gave their lives in the Yarnell fire and pray for their families and friends.
