Last Day

Today was Miss E's last day in Reception. It doesn't seem like five minutes since I dropped her off for that first day!
It's been a fantastic year. She's made good friends and been happy. From day one she's been so settled and at home in Big School!
She's gone from being a nursery child just starting to copy her letters to being able to write her own thank you cards to the teachers this morning; from having books read to her to being able to read them herself and read them to Miss L.
Her final report has made me so proud. I know it's fairly meaningless at five but I'm still chuffed to see she's exceeding in so many of the target areas. And not just academic ones but emotional and social ones too.
And she got the Foundation Stage Certificate for Mathmatics at their end of term asembly today.
Ha ha, I should have put a proud Mummy alert!!!
It was sad picking her up for the last time today but nowhere near as emotional as last year. This time I feel more excited, knowing she's building on a great start.
Now we've just got to get through the next eight weeks......
If the fiasco leaving the park tonight was anything to go by it's going to be a rocky road at times!
