Happy Neighbours
Cloudy and a bit cool after the initial sun this morning so I got on with some ironing. Chris was cutting the lawns so I waited till he finished to put out yet another load of washing (home not holiday this time).
Then I made a start on clearing several of the back garden beds of spent bluebells and forget me nots, they come out easily enough but getting under the magnolia trees is a bit of a struggle. Surprised to see so many brown crocus leaves still underneath it all. We wait so long for these much loved spring flowers and then sadly we’re pulling them out!
Much more in the garden to enjoy though I do think Spring is the best time in our garden.
I liked the juxtaposition of the lovely red peony with the yellow welsh poppy. No doubt considered a weed by many but I think they look lovely.
My climbing rose ‘Maigold’ looks lovely, it’s in a not very lovely corner between the kitchen window and the garage high up and growing over the roof. I tried a picture of it today for my blip and all it really showed me was a lot of green fly!
The peony of course is usually ruined by rain. The main effect seems to be not as many flowers, the pink one next to it isn’t even budding yet though there is a bud on my new ‘Bowl of Beauty’, looking forward to that.
Dentist this afternoon!

Grace got a new job yesterday. She texted us whilst we were away that she was putting in an 11th hour application and was interviewed on Monday. Yesterday she got the news that she had got it. It will be a day more a week though still part time which fits perfectly with Jude starting school in September and best of all it’s in Bath. No more 40 + minutes drive to Bristol three times a week in awful traffic. Well done Grace!
