Marjorie's ramblings

Iris and friend

I was wandering in the garden in the late evening light, when I saw some beautiful irises in bloom. I stopped to photograph one, only to be joined by a large bumble bee who made their way right inside the flower to drink the nectar.

My extra shows it exiting before it flew away happily!

Margret and I went out for lunch in Corbridge today. It was an opportunity for her to use her electric wheelchair and for me to see how it works. She will need lots of practice to become adept with the movements. The pavements in Corbridge are not friendly to wheelchair users. This wheelchair is inclined to tip to the side if attempting to go up a small curb, unless it is straight on to the task.

We managed to avoid any spills and had a lovely lunch in Il Piccolo. The staff were lovely and looked after us well.

On the return journey we found the shortcut back to the home along much better pavements.

I had left some post for Margret at my house, so I took the opportunity to try her wheelchair in my boot. I managed to lift it in and out again. She enjoyed the drive.

After leaving her, I drove to Hexham and had a lovely visit with Maureen. She looked better this time and we had a good chat. She keeps up with what many friends are doing.

Both Margret and Maureen's bungalows are either on the market or about to go on the market. Difficult for them both.
