Cousins in the Car

Today is the last day of the holidays and we have had such a busy day!
We met Mrs C and the boys at Blenheim this morning and had the usual fun - park, picnic, adventure playground, sandpit, ice cream, butterfly house, train ride, tree climbing.
Plus a wasp sting for Mummy, ouch! And a total meltdown from Miss E when she had to get down from the tree and in the car.
But all in all a lovely outing on our last day!
From there it was a very slow leisurely drive to Banbury. I had told Miss E we had to go immediately or we'd miss gymnastics and unfortunately left myself with an hour and a quarter for a half hour journey.
Naturally there was no traffic and every light was green so we made it in super record time!
I decided that an emergency McDonalds was in order and - as luck would have it - there was a massive queue for the drive thru and then we had to park and wait for our food!!
We drove slowly to gymnastics and sat outside eating our Happy Meals. Miss L was asleep but I didn't want her to feel left out when she woke up so I selflessly ate a cheeseburger on her behalf and left her the chips and the toy!
I did have to laugh at the irony of sitting outside gymnastics eating McDonalds!
From there we went to Mrs L's house to give Miss M her birthday presents and cards. She's twelve today and starts secondary school tomorrow!
Happy Birthday lovely!
The Little Misses and Cousin T had hours of fun in his giant radio controlled car. Mr B was controlling it and they thought it was the funniest thing ever!
Miss L then went in on her own and took over the driving. Oh dear! Mr B shouting "Right hand down" didn't seem to help her manoeuvring. Can't think why!!!
She nearly decapitated herself on the trampoline and ran Mr T over. But all with squeals of delight.
Mr K came over to get them at about 7pm and I went off to Miss K's for dinner.
Finally got in at about 10.45pm. Not a long day at all!
Miss E is back to school tomorrow. The holidays have gone by in a flash! Looking back through the photos from the past couple of months I remember that we've done so much! Fabulous weather, wonderful friends, our first camping trip, so many great days out.
Back to school reality tomorrow. And naturally I haven't put the names tags in anything, haven't washed Miss E's hair, haven't got her bags ready or her snack.
Ha ha, nothing changes!
