Marjorie's ramblings

Day 2, Haltwhistle Walking Festival

I decided to risk doing a second long walk after yesterday's. Today was 13 miles. Our bus driver this week is great fun; entering into the spirit of the event. We walked to Wark, pronounced Wark like Noah's ark and Redesmouth and Bellingham. The river North Tyne was our companion for a lot of the day. It was fine, fresh and autumnal this morning, with a deterioration into mizzle this afternoon.

This shot is taken after we passed Catless Farm (seems unlikely) and were heading down towards the house called Sheilahaugh. You can see it in the photo. I love this wild countryside.

We welcomed quite a few new walkers this weekend and sold a few more calendars today.

PS What a difference a year makes!
