On the Floor

The housework I did today consisted of picking these pens, pencils and crayons off the floor.
And almost sorting out the clothes mountain!
I gathered up every scrap of clothing - from the baskets in the dining room (which is where our clothes permanently live!), the Little Misses' wardrobes and chests of drawers (which are full of clothes they never wear because we never use them.....) and everywhere else that the clothes end up.
I heaped them up in a big pile in the living room and set fire to them.
I mean sorted them out.
Mostly.
There are bags for the ragman, bags for nursery and bags for eBay.
And there are more pairs of tights than it's possible for two little girls to wear!
There is one last pile on the sofa to be sorted and then it'll be done.
And it'll stay done.
If it kills me!
Not the usual Wednesday routine today. Mr K was working (for the first time in months!) so Miss L had to come to gymnastics with us. Miss E did not take the news that she couldn't go in the front well.
She screamed and wailed and bawled through school and screamed and wailed and bawled an awful lot more when she got in the car. And kicked the back of my seat a lot for good measure.
I refused to leave until she calmed down even though we were already late and I told her there was no way we'd be going to McDonalds after that behaviour.
That unleashed a fresh onslaught.
She was fairly sheepish on the way home and went to bed surprisingly easily.
And was keen to know would we be going to McDonalds next week.....
Miss L slept all the way to gymnastics, slept the whole time we were there, slept all the way to home and stayed asleep as Mr K put her to bed.
God knows what time she'll wake up in the morning!
