The Rock Store

It seems absurd when nothing will grow in our garden because it is 50% rock, that we find ourselves at the rock yard buying rocks, but there we were….

We've been digging rocks out of the hill, carrying rocks back from our morning walks, building little rock walls around the plants to keep the water from running off before it can reach the roots and digging trenches and filling them with, you guessed it, rocks in the form of gravel. We're surrounded by rocks but not in the right places.

This morning while OilMan was inside paying for the stepping stones we purchased, I wandered around looking at the bins of rocks, piles of rocks, bags of rocks, and rocks built into paths, pillars, walls and patios. I liked the patterns and colors of these bins of flagstones.

We are buried in rocks --except for the rocks we ordered in October for our shower wall--maybe the rock theme was a mistake….
