Big Sky (but no Red Moon)

Thwarted by the weather pretty much sums up tonight's Blip activity. I've spent the last day or so planning how to capture tonight's lunar eclipse, but unfortunately the weather gods didn't get the memo, with thick, drizzly low cloud putting a dampener on proceedings. Oh well, greater plans etc etc

Instead, tonight I'm offering up a different kind of big sky, a section of a 34 four frame panorama (yes, thirty four!) taken at Sunset Point on the edge of Lake Ellesmere/Te Waihora on the way home.

I reckon that large is a prerequisite for this blip!

As you can see the clouds were brewing over the Southern Alps out to the west, but it was the clouds to the east that were the undoing for Cantabrian lunatics.

Weather gods, you owe us photographers....
