Lac St. Croix

Today we travelled from Bargemon to Apt, where Pip and Bruno live and work on a daily basis. We decided to take the scenic route rather than blat along the autoroute. The trip took us through the Parc Regional de Verdon and close to the famous gorge, France's Grand Canyon. At times looking down at the satnav, it looked more like a plate of spaghetti than a road system. The fields were beautiful with loads of poppies and the smells of wild thyme and honeysuckle had us keeping the windows open and the aircon off despite the heat of the day.

I do like the fact that there are plenty of pull ins along the road round Lac St. Croix. I kept pulling in to take a few more and the water really is that colour. We camped at St Aiguines, near here a couple of years ago and it certainly is a lovely lake, especially considering it is a man-made reservoir.

There's another one of St Croix du Verdon here and theres also one of Bargemon at night here and a B/W conversion of yesterday's fountain here or you can just flick through the Blipper's Overspill pages and see these and lots of other good stuff.

I hope you're all set up to have a great weekend.

David
