Marjorie's ramblings

An unusual viewpoint

I was back to Newcastle again today, to take Margret to visit Guy in the Freeman Hospital. It's good to see him less breathless, although he remains very unwell.

During the first part of visiting I drove around Byker and Walker, before stopping in the Ouseburn area. This is a land of extreme contrasts, with some smart apartments complete with balconies, then areas that are being rebuilt and other areas that are full of rubbish and chaos. Body building is going on in the old swimming baths. The grafitti in this area is falling off the wall as the plaster decays, but I was taken with the view of the bridges and the Baltic. It almost looks like a toy town balancing on top of the wall.

I am too tired tonight to do much more than upload this blip, so apologies for lack of comments at the moment.
