Marjorie's ramblings

bLIP!

Today was the blipmeet organised by GailyWhaley at the Sage, Gateshead.

I arrived in good time and saw this grafitti behind the Sage building. I knew this would be a good place for a group picture. I have to say that persuading a group of photographers to spell out letters was really quite easy!  We could not manage an upper case B but we did our best and Dollydoug is providing the exclamation mark (complete with a dot at her feet).

From the left are Paula JShaamie, Meancoast, Caroline Jay, Kath Gordon, GailyWhaley and Dollydoug.  HighPike joined later (having gone to find a bacon sandwich!!)

We saw the Millennium Bridge blink at noon, then we crossed it. Gail took us across 5 bridges which gave great views and an opportunity to see a lot of the wonderful buildings around the keyside. Lots of other people were enjoying the sunshine too.

Lunch (down to 6 of us) was in the cafe of the Catholic Cathedral before we made our final Tyne crossing on the High Level Bridge.

It was a brilliant day out and a chance to get to know people I've followed (or not followed) on Blip.

Next time we are going to Durham.

You can see other photos of the day by clicking on the links of the names, that's when everyone has had time to upload them. I'll put more up later too.

I did post a few on Facebook, but some people can't see them. Here is an album from the day. Click this link then click on the white triangle (top right) and the slideshow will run.
