Wicked!

That is how things were in today in Le Leeds!

Yes it was the Grand Depart but we were there to see the matinee performance of Wicked which was a birthday present to me from my daughter Grace, booked over a year ago!

Our original train was delayed and the next one cancelled but we got, there to see the biggest crowds I've ever seen on a station concourse as people who had watched the start tried to get from Leeds to Ilkley, Skipton or Harrogate to see more.

In the city centre there were huge screens with lots of people watching in the sun. We watched for a while as the Tour passed through Ilkley and Addingham and then caught a glimpse of it passing Kilnsey Crags. Fantastic scenery and wonderful titles; Le Parc National de Yorkshire Dales and Cote de Grinton were just two.

Made it up to the Headrow where we saw the start line and inexplicably a couple of very friendly pigeons! (Oops I'm told they were seagulls!) Then on to a wonderful performance of Wicked.

When we came out it was still a beautiful evening so to give people a bit of extra time to 'depart' we headed back on the Headrow to Browns for a cocktail before the train home. What a fabulous day. Hope to see some actual bikes tomorrow.

Wicked!
